About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Front-End Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment, embracing the hustle and rapid development cycles without compromising on technology quality and longevity. As a key member of our engineering leadership, you will collaborate closely with product teams and other stakeholders to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge features. Your responsibilities will include leading the front-end development efforts for our React/Redux single-page application, making critical architectural decisions, and ensuring best practices in code quality and testing. You will also play a mentorship role, guiding less experienced engineers and participating in technical interviews to help grow our talented team. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely initially, with a future transition to a flexible, on-site presence based out of California once conditions permit. Your contributions will directly impact the scalability and success of our platform, helping us to build innovative solutions that serve a global customer base.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with React and Redux or equivalent front-end frameworks
- 1+ year of leadership experience in a technical role
- Strong proficiency in React, Redux, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and RESTful APIs
- Experience with responsive design and implementation
- Prior experience working in startup environments is a plus
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Permanent resident of California
Responsibilities
- Engage with product stakeholders to review and understand product requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Lead the development of our React/Redux single-page application, ensuring high performance and maintainability
- Make informed decisions regarding application architecture, design patterns, and selection of front-end libraries
- Ensure comprehensive testing of the codebase to maintain quality standards
- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and suggest improvements based on industry best practices
- Collaborate effectively with other engineering team members to deliver cohesive and scalable solutions
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering growth and knowledge sharing within the team
- Participate in technical interviews to assist in recruiting top talent
