Frontend Engineer (React.js, UI)

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Frontend Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for defining and maintaining the frontend architecture of our TypeScript/React application. You will establish technical standards, design scalable UI patterns, and ensure the performance and maintainability of our complex geospatial workflows, particularly utilizing Cesium. As a hands-on leader, you will mentor engineering team members, collaborate closely with leadership to prioritize product features, and contribute directly to production code.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building and scaling frontend systems
• Deep expertise in React and TypeScript
• Strong architectural judgment with the ability to balance rapid development and long-term maintainability
• Proven track record leading complex, interactive, and data-heavy UI projects where performance is critical
• Experience working with design systems and component libraries, preferably MUI
• Able to operate effectively in fast-paced environments with minimal process overhead
• Excellent communication skills to align team members around technical patterns and decisions
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the frontend architecture and technical standards for our TypeScript/React application
• Design and develop scalable UI patterns for complex geospatial workflows, utilizing Cesium and related tools
• Establish best practices for state management, component architecture, performance optimization, testing, and maintainability
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to plan, prioritize, and deliver high-impact product features
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, architecture discussions, and practical implementation guidance
• Drive the execution of frontend development, actively writing production-quality code
• Ensure the frontend solutions are robust, efficient, and aligned with overall product goals
• Stay updated with emerging frontend technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve the platform
