Frontend Engineer, Kiro
About the role
The future of software development is autonomous. AWS is building Kiro—a frontier Developer Tool that independently tackles development tasks, maintains context across interactions, and continuously learns from its work. Responsibilities
- Shape the technical direction and architecture of Kiro Autonomous Agent service.
- Work directly with customers, uncovering real-world development challenges and translating them into product capabilities—staying true to Amazon's customer-obsessed approach.
- Build and operate production systems using industry-leading CI/CD practices, ensuring Kiro Autonomous Agent maintains the reliability and performance our customers depend on.
- Span the full lifecycle: from architectural decisions that define how an autonomous agent learns and maintains context, to hands-on development of features that transform how software gets built.
- Balance innovation with operational excellence, making technical choices that enable Kiro to work independently while meeting AWS's standards for scale and security.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
- 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience
- Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node

Skills
Your skills will be essential in shaping the future of software development. You'll need to be proficient in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and have experience with JavaScript frameworks like Angular and React. Agile methodologies and experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node are preferred. You should also have a strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
