Frontend Engineer

This is a Fully Remote Job About Our Client:This team operates within the Workflow pillar, focusing on communication technologies including calling, messaging, voicemail, transcription, and their supporting workflows. The organization develops interfaces utilized by thousands of businesses daily, aiming to enhance communication tools through scalable and reliable solutions. About the Opportunity:The FRONTEND ENGINEER will contribute to building and improving critical communication interfaces. This role involves re-architecting calling systems, developing dashboards and tools for performance observability, and shipping new features that enhance user experience. The engineer will own projects end to end, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support ongoing improvements in calling, messaging, voicemail, and transcription. Responsibilities:Re-architect calling infrastructure and standardize integration with calling providersDevelop dashboards and tools to monitor calling performanceImplement new features such as URL unfurling, custom transcript summaries, group messaging, direct messages, and calling enhancementsManage projects from initiation to delivery with senior engineer supportImprove existing features, fix bugs, and update documentationWrite tests and ensure safe deployment through delivery pipelines Requirements:Experience with React and TypeScriptUnderstanding of data flow from backend to frontend, including GraphQL and schema designAbility to write integration and unit tests, preferably using PlaywrightProblem-solving skills and collaborative approach to building user experiencesKnowledge of web performance, observability, and accessibility conceptsStrong ownership and communication skillsTeam player mindset with willingness to contribute through bug fixes and documentationProactive and self-driven in a remote work environmentMethodical approach to testing and quality assuranceEmpathy and thoughtfulness in evaluating tradeoffsCuriosity and a drive for continuous learningClean, readable, testable, and maintainable code practicesOpenness to integrating AI tools into engineering work Nice to have:Experience with real-time messaging technologies such as WebSockets and WebRTCFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and mature delivery processesExperience with agentic AI workflows for feature generation and testing Pay Range and Compensation Package:SF Bay Area, Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, Boston, New York, and Washington, DC Metro: $170,000 - $200,000 USD annuallyAll other US Locations: $153,000 - $180,000 USD annuallyCanada: $156,000 - $183,000 CAD annuallyCompensation includes equity, extensive medical coverage, a monthly lifestyle stipend, and a flexible PTO policy Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
