About the role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Frontend Developer to join our team. In this role, you will support, maintain, and enhance a client application, ensuring its accessibility, reliability, and optimal performance within an Agile, sprint-based development environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in modern web technologies, including JavaScript frameworks, responsive design, and accessibility standards such as Section 508 compliance. You will leverage AWS cloud services, RESTful APIs, Git/GitHub, and open-source solutions to deliver scalable, user-focused applications that meet stringent security and compliance requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to federal projects that impact national security and public safety, working remotely with occasional travel as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical support for maintaining and enhancing the client application
- Implement development, accessibility, integration, and optimization tasks within project sprints
- Ensure the application's availability, stability, and correct operation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions
- Leverage AWS cloud services and RESTful APIs to support application functionality
- Conduct accessibility testing to ensure compliance with Section 508 and WCAG standards
- Participate actively in Agile sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Create and modify web layouts, views, and templates based on static designs and user requirements
- Maintain version control and documentation for ongoing development efforts
- Support occasional travel for project meetings, client engagements, or training sessions, with less than 10% travel expected
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of frontend development experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; additional 3 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Proficiency in modern web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles
- Experience with JavaScript and modern frameworks such as React
- Understanding of Section 508 compliance and WCAG standards for accessibility
- Experience with accessibility testing tools (automated and manual)
- Ability to consume RESTful APIs effectively
- Hands-on experience with agile development methodologies
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git/GitHub
- Experience creating web layouts from static images, views, and templates within full-stack frameworks
- Knowledge of AWS cloud environment, Python backend, and TypeScript front-end development is preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting
