About the role

As a Front Office Receptionist at QualDerm Partners, you will ensure accurate and timely patient registration using medical systems, verify patient insurance coverage, and provide exceptional customer service to physicians, patients, family members, and other medical professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and visitors in person or by telephone, answering or referring inquiries.
  • Note patient arrival in the Practice Management System (EMR).
  • Identify patients by date of birth and name in the computer system; create new accounts for new patients.
  • Prepare necessary patient paperwork prior to appointments.
  • Call "No Show" appointments to reschedule, update the Practice Management System, and send letters to patients when necessary.
  • Schedule appointments in person or by telephone to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization.
  • Comfort patients by anticipating anxieties and answering questions.
  • Assist in emergency situations by responding quickly to patients in distress.
  • Review and update patient information in the Practice Management System (EMR).
  • Identify payer sources, verify insurance eligibility, financial status, and assign correct payor type.
  • Verify if prior authorization from insurance is required; notify the Billing Department if necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Record and update financial information, collect patient copays or balances at check-in/out.
  • Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; report changes as needed.
  • Answer the telephone in a timely and polite manner.
  • Communicate courteously and professionally with patients, visitors, providers, and team members.
  • Support the clinic's social media presence by gathering content, sharing clinic-approved updates, and assisting with community engagement efforts as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate Degree preferred.
  • 1 year of customer service experience in a healthcare office preferred.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
