Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by performing reception, scheduling, and general administrative support duties. Responsibilities
- Immediately greet patients upon arrival; verify appointment time, insurance, and personal information, and collect co-pay.
- Schedule patient appointments based on established guidelines to ensure clinic productivity targets are met.
- Reconcile daily receipts and petty cash.
- Take patient demographics over the phone and enter them into the electronic health records system (EHR).
- Ensure accuracy and completion of intake forms before forwarding to the appropriate department.
- Professionally answer calls, take messages, and refer callers to the appropriate individuals.
- Schedule translators as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and treat patients with the highest respect in all job functions.
- Monitor patient waiting rooms for cleanliness and security.
- Perform other duties as assigned, supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional schooling or formal training preferred.
- Customer service and multi-line telephone experience preferred.
- Computer skills required, including accurate spelling and basic math for calculating patient payments.
- Ability to clearly communicate and gather information from patients.
- Commitment to supporting a safe, respectful, equitable, and inclusive environment.
Physical Demands
- Stand, sit, and be mobile for one-third to two-thirds of the time.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel over two-thirds of the time; reach with hands and arms for one-third of the day.
- Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching occurs less than one-third of the time.
- Communicate by talking and hearing over two-thirds of the day.
- Lift or exert force up to 10 pounds about 50% of the time, and up to 25–40 pounds less than one-third of the time. Rarely lift more than 41 pounds.

Pay
Compensation range: $21.92 - $31.25 per hour.
