Front Line Leader - 1st Shift - Rotors

About the role

We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. This position is onsite at the Rotors Service Center in Fort Worth, Texas. This position is 1st Shift (7:00AM-4:00PM) – Will have mandatory OT weekend shift (rotation typically every 4 weeks).

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily assignment and direction to direct reports.
  • Conduct disciplines of employees when necessary.
  • Manage in accordance with the local production union Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Utilize metrics driven accountability for performance: TAKT, earned hours, efficiency, schedule, overhead, and overtime charges.
  • Achieve objectives in a matrix work environment and work effectively with multiple functions (such as Supply Chain, Process Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Quality, etc.).
  • Develop, support, and implement process improvements.
  • Evaluate business impact in regard to metrics, activity reports, delivery schedules, manpower, etc.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal, leadership, communication and organization skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of manufacturing environment experience is required.
  • At least 3 years proven success in a professional leadership role is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, detail oriented, and data driven with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work multiple shifts.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
  • Experience and/or training in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma desired.
  • Machining experience is preferred.

Must be able to assist direct reports. Uses computer terminal frequently. Interfaces with other managerial, office and hourly employees on a regular basis with various forms of communication. Required to wear appropriate PPE (i.e., safety glasses).

Skills
