Front End Manager
General Purpose
The Front-End Manager is responsible for leading the cashier and customer service teams to deliver exceptional shopping experience. This role ensures efficient front-end operations, compliance with company policies, and a welcoming environment for customers and team members.
Work Schedule
Full-time, salaried position; flexibility required for evenings, weekends, and peak business periods.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop front-end team members to ensure excellent customer service.
Oversee cashiering, customer service desk, safe counts and online/phone order processing.
Monitor front-end operations to maintain service standards, accuracy, and efficiency.
Ensure all transactions, returns, exchanges, voids, discounts, and authorizations comply with policy.
Support inventory accuracy through proper processing of transactions.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization at all front-end stations, equipment, and parking lot areas.
Promote and enforce company safety policies, reporting hazards immediately.
Aid in loss prevention efforts, including monitoring security concerns.
Manage schedules, staffing, and daily work assignments for front-end associates.
Facilitate team meetings and communicate operational changes effectively.
Provide feedback to Store Leadership regarding customer service trends, merchandising, and process improvements.
Perform additional tasks as needed to support store operations, especially during peak business periods.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 4 years of grocery, cashiering, or customer service experience. Minimum 2 Years Of Supervisory Or Leadership Experience Preferred.
Skills and Competencies: Strong leadership and team development abilities. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to schedule, assign, and monitor daily activities. Basic proficiency in math and reporting. Familiarity with merchandising standards and customer service best practices.
Physical Demands
Ability to stand and move on hard surfaces for extended periods.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to bend, reach, climb short ladders/steps, and perform repetitive motions.
Ability to work in varying temperature environments (e.g., coolers, outdoor lot).
Ability to use standard equipment such as pallet jacks, bailers, and carts, following safety policies.
