About the role
Join a collaborative front-end team supporting a traditional Sitecore-based web platform in a remote contract role. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working in established enterprise environments, building responsive and accessible user experiences, and partnering closely with developers, designers, and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain front-end functionality for a server-rendered Sitecore website.
- Build modular client-side features using vanilla JavaScript and RequireJS.
- Create responsive, user-friendly interfaces with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Work with Sitecore templates, layouts, components, and rendered markup to support seamless integration.
- Investigate and resolve browser, device, DOM, and JavaScript issues.
- Collaborate with back-end developers, UX/UI designers, and Agile team members to deliver effective solutions.
- Consume REST APIs and integrate front-end functionality with back-end services as needed.
- Support accessibility, cross-browser compatibility, and front-end performance best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, releases, and ongoing production support.
- Contribute clean, maintainable, and well-documented code within an established codebase.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional front-end or web development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with vanilla/plain JavaScript.
- Experience with RequireJS or similar module-loading/dependency management approaches.
- Solid HTML5 and CSS3 development skills.
- Experience supporting server-rendered websites or applications.
- Direct Sitecore experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug JavaScript, CSS, DOM, and browser-related issues.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and client/server web application architecture.
- Experience using Git or similar source-control tools.
- Understanding of accessibility standards, including WCAG.
- Comfort working within an existing or legacy codebase and following established patterns.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting traditional Sitecore MVC or other server-rendered CMS implementations.
- Familiarity with Sitecore 10.x environments.
- Working knowledge of Razor views and ASP.NET MVC concepts.
- Exposure to front-end build tooling, package management, and dependency management.
- Understanding of performance optimization, caching, and page-load improvements.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Exposure to modern JavaScript or TypeScript and component-based frameworks.
Pay
The pay range for this role is $41 - $78 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
