Responsibilities
- Manage daily office operations, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and directing visitors.
- Prepare and maintain correspondence, reports, and meeting minutes.
- Organize and maintain filing systems, both electronic and paper-based.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications.
- Aid in preparing promotional materials and community outreach efforts.
- Cookordinate schedules, appointments, and meetings for staff and leadership.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of programs, participants, and donations.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial reports as needed.
- Support for events and programs, including planning and organizing community events, fundraising activities, and volunteer coordination.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of events, ensuring that all logistical details are managed.
- Work closely with staff members and volunteers to promote a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Proven experience in an administrative or secretarial role, ideally in a nonprofit setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office equipment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Corps Officer on duty.
- Ability to perform general office tasks, including lifting up to 25 pounds and sitting for extended periods of time.
