This position provides general support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks for Skyland Trail operations. The Receptionist serves as a security presence, requiring working knowledge of security and safety protocols at all campuses and confidentiality policies.
Responsibilities
- Professionally answer incoming calls to the main number and route as appropriate.
- Greet visitors in a professional and friendly manner and notify appropriate staff of their arrival.
- Ensure all guests sign the confidentiality form upon arrival and are issued appropriate visitor identification.
- At the J. Rex Fuqua Adolescent Campus, follow special visitor protocols using the LobbyGuard© Visitor Management System.
- Assist Skyland Trail clients as needed and according to established protocols.
- Receive and sort daily mail and other deliveries for distribution.
- Type memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents as assigned.
- Perform related clerical duties including photocopying, faxing, filing, and collating.
- Open and close visitor area (locking doors, turning off lights).
- Monitor surveillance cameras and other electronic security systems; report or respond to suspicious or emergency situations according to established protocols.
- Activate client wrist bands and help clients check out electronic devices.
- Take client ID photos.
- Maintain working knowledge of all safety procedures, confidentiality policies, crisis communication, and emergency procedures.
- Coordinate with relief coverage to determine appropriate times for lunch and breaks.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Polished and professional image with excellent phone etiquette.
- Excellent oral communication skills; fluency in English is required.
- Ability to prioritize work, be a self-starter, and work efficiently under limited supervision.
- Punctual, dependable, and able to handle multiple, changing, and competing priorities.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge and proficiency in MS Office.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to respond appropriately.
- Prolonged sitting at a desk; manual dexterity, visual acuity, and hand-to-eye coordination required.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Minimum of two years experience in a business office setting.
- Weekend and evening work may be required on a regular basis.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
