Front Desk Receptionist
Rothman Orthopaedics is looking to hire a full-time Front Desk Receptionist based in our Newtown, PA office. This position will require travel to offices within the region for training and coverage purposes.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 4:30 PM
About the Role
The Front Desk Receptionist greets, instructs, directs, and schedules patients and visitors. This individual serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff.
Key focus areas include increased patient satisfaction, co-pay collection, referral capture, time stamping accuracy, accuracy in demographic and insurance capture, time management (attendance and overtime), chart prep for insurance, co-pay and referral, and cross-training to assist in other areas.
Responsibilities
- Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
- Checks in patients, verifies and updates demographic and insurance information in eCW.
- Updates the eCW system on patients’ arrival and records referral information.
- Utilizes eCW to enter the copayment and notes to the Business Office.
- Checks out and makes appointments for follow-up patients' office schedules.
- Answers telephone in an amiable and professional manner, screens calls, answers questions within the position’s responsibility, forwards calls, or takes messages for preassigned personnel.
- Assists patients with ambulatory difficulties.
- Screens visitors and responds to routine requests for information.
- Collects applicable insurance co-pay information and referrals.
- Batches out and balances end-of-day payments.
- Assists other front desk personnel in situations with irate patients.
- Maintains work area and lobby in a neat and orderly manner.
- Re-supplies front desk for the day.
- Prepares all work for the next business day in eCW, including linking of referring doctor, referral number, copay, and authorization number for Visco Injections, Epi's, etc.
- Prints out all related paperwork for patients’ appointments with the physician.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Works in conjunction with the Patient Responsible team to collect past due balances.
- Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (minimum education requirement).
- Minimum of one (1) year’s experience in a medical office environment.
- Knowledge of business office procedures and medical terminology (preferred).
- Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office Suite.
Pay
$16.00/hr - $22.00/hr
