About the Role

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor I of the Administrative and Support Services Unit, the Office Technician (OT) performs work involved with the completion and/or review and processing of technical documents. Additionally, the OT provides technical information to departmental clientele and/or the general public, reviews and processes consultant contracts specific to the division, and applies and communicates specific laws, rules, and policies related to program work. The incumbent must communicate effectively and function in an environment with demanding and changing priorities.

Working Conditions

This position is headquartered out of San Luis Obispo, CA. This position supports and manages the day-to-day business operations for Cal OES which is handled in an office location. This is not considered a hybrid telework position.

Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position requires a valid Driver's License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application and provide your DL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.

In the event of an emergency, employees may be contacted and requested to report to work outside of normal working hours (evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays). This service may require irregular work hours, work locations other than the official duty location, and may include duties other than those specified in your official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and you may be required to relocate to emergency sites.
