Front Desk Coordinator Surgery Center

Overview

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to join our team at the Surgery Center. This position coordinates scheduling, pre-procedure communication, medical record documents, EMR demographic data entry, and ensures accurate billing and insurance verification.

Success Profile

• Schedules and inputs all appointments in a timely and efficient manner
• Manages patient cancellations, center cancellations, and adds to the schedule according to center parameters
• Facilitates the admission process by greeting patients and obtaining necessary identification and insurance information
• Assembles and maintains patient medical records and financial records securely
• Completes front-end billing process ensuring all information is accurately entered into the computer registration module
• Performs insurance verification and completes required prior authorizations or other payor actions
• Affords assistance with patient transportation if eligible under company policy
• Ensures appropriate signatures are included on necessary chart and admission data in compliance with FMCNA policies and procedures
• Scans and files documents within 24 hours of completion of visits, including physician reports to referral sources
• Communicates changes to procedures and insurance identified during patient visits to relevant internal parties and directly to the patient record
• Performs daily encounter checks to ensure reporting accuracy
• Coordinates collection processing, maintenance, storage, retrieval, documentation, and distribution of medical records per policy and procedure
• Affords oversight of medical records release documentation
• Provides information to parties involved in research or studies involving patient care and service utilization in accordance with policy
• Affords oversight of materials entering and exiting the office, including inventory shipments and deliveries
• Performs other duties as assigned
