GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Front Desk Coordinator to perform various clerical duties supporting the office manager and providers.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and screen high-volume telephone calls courteously, recording messages for providers and staff.
  • Schedule patient appointments and procedures according to established policies.
  • Check-in patients upon arrival and check-out upon departure.
  • Obtain accurate patient information and ensure all registration forms are complete.
  • Collect patient and insurance payments, reconcile charges daily, and verify account balances and refunds for accuracy.
  • Provide information to patients regarding unpaid balances.
  • File records in appropriate sections of patient charts in the EMR.
  • Prepare patient charts in advance and scan documents into charts in the EMR.
  • Transcribe letters and create forms as needed.
  • Maintain files and records confidentially.
  • Maintain organization and efficiency of the front office, including office supply inventory.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office, front office, or scheduling (preferred).
  • For Level I status: 1–4 years of experience with need for additional supervision, or over 4 years if meeting only basic requirements with supervision.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computer programs and applications, including Microsoft® Excel, email, and internet.
  • Basic arithmetic skills for calculations, balancing, and reconciling figures.
  • Skill in operating office equipment and handling paperwork/filing.
  • Skill in managing incoming phone calls and triaging appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to learn and use additional computer programs, such as Microsoft® PowerPoint.
  • Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
  • Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
