About the role

Connecticut GI, a division of GI Alliance, is seeking a full-time experienced Front Desk Coordinator to join our South Windsor Care Center. We are the largest gastroenterology practice in Connecticut with over 30 Care Centers and growing. Our team of clinical and administrative support staff collaborate with our physicians and advanced practitioners to provide comprehensive and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

  • Providing Remarkable Patient Experience: Scheduling office visits, confirming appointments, updating patient insurance and demographic information, answering incoming calls, and documenting using Epic EMR.
  • Attention to Detail: Composing, processing, and following up on electronic phone messages and alerts.
  • Team Player: Answering quick questions appropriate for administrative staff via EMR.
  • Process Insurance Authorizations When Required.
  • Expertise: Monitoring schedule of assigned providers, noting and correcting errors as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • 3+ years of professional experience.
  • Prior front desk experience in a medical setting.
  • Experience with an EMR system is ideal, Epic experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office, front office, or scheduling experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance, and reconcile figures, and make changes accurately.
  • Skill in operating office equipment.
  • Skill in handling paperwork/filing adequately.
  • Skill in handling incoming phone calls and triaging appropriately.
  • Skill in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to learn/use other computer programs including Microsoft® Excel, e-mail, Internet, and Microsoft® PowerPoint.
  • Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
  • Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
