Front Desk Attendant

Responsibilities

• Warms up members and guests upon entry and exit.
• Answers and transfers incoming calls professionally and promptly.
• Checks in members, verifies membership, and signs them up for classes.
• Registers prospective members and guides them to the membership department.
• Addresses member inquiries and directs them to the appropriate staff.
• Sells supplements, apparel, and other retail items to members.
• Rings up purchases and provides accurate change using the POS system.
• Maintains a professional appearance and behavior at all times.
• Responds professionally to guest and member inquiries and escalates issues as necessary.
• Provides information about special club events to members.
• Reports any unsafe conditions or emergencies immediately to management.
• Keeps the front desk and lobby neat and clean.
• Performs opening and closing procedures as assigned.
• Attends monthly meetings and other scheduled meetings.
• Assists with inventory or product pricing as needed.
• Calls past due members regarding late dues and down payments.

Requirements

• Energetic and outgoing personality with a positive attitude.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
• A strong customer service focus.
• The ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Able to multitask and perform tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
• A team player with a can-do attitude.
• Adheres to meal and rest break periods and clocks in/out for all shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• At least 6 months of customer service experience in a health club, retail, hospitality, or food service environment.
• Experience with multiple phone lines is preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to stand and remain on feet for a full shift.
