About the role

As the face of the operation, you are the first physical impression of the property. It is imperative that you are outgoing, welcoming, and always in uniform with a name tag. Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls to the Inn.
  • Greet and welcome all guests in a professional and hospitable manner.
  • Interact with guests respectfully, cheerfully, and politely to service their needs.
  • Register guests and assign them rooms.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the hotel property management system.
  • Verify customers' credit and establish payment methods.
  • Keep records of room availability and guest accounts using the specified POS system.
  • Review reservation transaction reports daily.
  • Compute bills and collect payments from guests.
  • Issue room keys and assist guests with luggage.
  • Maintain full knowledge of parking options, charges, and offer luggage assistance.
  • Monitor guest accounts and post charges.
  • Review accounts and charges with guests during check-out.
  • Contact housekeeping or maintenance when guests report problems.
  • Advise housekeeping when rooms are vacated and ready for cleaning.
  • Maintain accurate records of room status in coordination with housekeeping.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally, solving problems and following up on service standards.
  • Receive and expedite guest messages, faxes, packages, and mail.
  • Make and confirm reservations over the phone and online.
  • Answer inquiries about hotel services, guest registration, and local attractions.
  • Record guest comments or complaints, escalating to managers as needed.
  • Provide information about hotel policies, services, and amenities.
  • Respond to guest requests for local assistance (e.g., directions, dining recommendations).
  • Sell rooms to walk-in customers.
  • Clean the front desk area and maintain daily logs.
  • Balance shift work and cash drawers.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a hotel front desk agent preferred.
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with hotel reservation systems such as RoomKey is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Positive, personable, and able to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with managers and team members.
  • Physical ability to reach, bend frequently, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

$13.00–$15.00 per hour (based on experience).
