About the role

At the Embassy Suites by Hilton Dulles Airport hotel, enjoy all-suite hotel accommodations in Herndon, VA, less than 3 miles from Washington Dulles International Airport. This all-suite hotel is only 25 miles west of Washington, D.C., and within close proximity to several popular tourist sites and global businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and communicate cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel.
  • Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary.
  • Promptly, accurately, and efficiently post all charges and manage Front Office computer or manual systems, including daily transactions.
  • Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card information for payment of hotel charges and make correct change.
  • Review reservations with special requests and block rooms accordingly.
  • Have knowledge of hotel rates, discounts, and procedures for handling each.
  • Take reservations efficiently (approximately 2 minutes per reservation) and follow cancellation and relocation procedures when necessary.

  • High work ethic and self-initiative.
  • Ability to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team to provide great guest experiences.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (6-8 hours a day).
  • Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday.
  • Frequent use of fine motor skills for keyboarding, typing, using a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items.
  • Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies).
  • Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials, including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation.
  • Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use a phone and/or headset.

Pay

$18 - $18 an hour. The actual base pay offered is determined by several variables, including the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, and certifications or professional licenses held.
