About the role
At the Embassy Suites by Hilton Dulles Airport hotel in Herndon, VA—less than 3 miles from Washington Dulles International Airport and 25 miles west of Washington, D.C.—you will:
- Greet and communicate cordially with guests, handling check-ins and check-outs promptly and professionally.
- Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations as needed.
- Post all charges accurately and efficiently, with full knowledge of the Front Office computer or manual system, including infrequent transactions.
- Manage cash handling, including receiving payments (cash, checks, credit cards) and making correct change.
- Review reservations with special requests and block rooms accordingly.
- Understand hotel rates, discounts, and how to apply them.
- Maintain working knowledge of reservations and procedures, including taking same-day reservations in approximately 2 minutes.
- Follow cancellation and relocation procedures when necessary.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a standard office environment.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (6–8 hours per day).
- Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday.
- Frequent use of fine motor skills for keyboarding, typing, using a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Occasional bending, reaching, or carrying of items.
- Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies).
- Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials, including close focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles).
- Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use a phone and/or headset.

Pay
$18 - $18 an hour. The actual base pay offered is determined by several variables, including the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, and certifications or professional licenses held. Base pay is one component of B. F. Saul Company & Affiliates' total compensation package, which also includes healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and bonus plans.
