About the role
This position is responsible for anticipating guest needs, exceeding expectations, and implementing creative solutions to provide exceptional service. You will process check-ins and check-outs, assist guests with reservations and requests, and uphold the high standards of quality set by B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group to ensure guest satisfaction. This is a full-time, customer-focused role requiring flexibility in scheduling, including AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Guest Service: Anticipate and respond to guests in a friendly and positive manner while providing the highest level of service. Process check-ins and check-outs, verify billing, create reservations, and handle special requests. Assist guests by sharing knowledge of the hotel property, local attractions, and hours of operation for hotel outlets and services. Work as a team player to meet guest needs and support other departments as necessary. Follow the company’s guest service recovery program.
- Financial Results and Cost Control: Utilize proper selling techniques and strategies to maximize room revenues. Monitor room availability, enforce booking policies, and adhere to restrictions. Drive sales and revenue by up-selling rooms and amenities. Follow company procedures for handling cash and processing financial transactions. Ensure proper use of equipment and adhere to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
- Self/Workload Management: Plan, organize, and prioritize work duties to meet required productivity standards. Adhere to company work rules and department procedures. Attend all required department and hotel meetings.
- Safety/Risk Management: Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company, brand, local, state, and federal regulations. Follow company procedures for guest and team member incidents. Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years of prior guest service experience, preferably in a hospitality setting.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail, customer-focused mindset, and ability to perform job duties in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis.
Pay
$18.50 - $19.50 per hour. The actual base pay offered is determined by several variables, including the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, and certifications or professional licenses held.
