About the role
The Hotel Landing is a premier luxury lakeside destination in the Upper Midwest, offering a blend of refined hospitality and personalized service. As a Front Desk Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring guests have a memorable stay.
Responsibilities
- Responds to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information, and guest concerns.
- Greets and completes check-in procedures for arriving guests using both manual and computerized methods.
- Facilitates guest departure by following established procedures to close accounts and prepare rooms for new guests.
- Regularly calculates and posts guest accounts, ensuring timely and precise hotel charges and maintaining accurate records.
- Courteously answers inquiries and accepts reservations, both in person and by telephone, using suggestive selling techniques to increase occupancy and revenue.
- Maintains good customer relations by staying informed about in-house and area functions and responding to questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses.
- Controls cash transactions and maintains personal bank as per hotel policies.
- Operates PBX equipment, accepting incoming calls, scheduling wake-up calls, and pagers to provide efficient service.
- Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Past experience in dealing directly with the public and basic customer service skills.
- Fluent in oral and written English.
- Ability to use tact and understanding when dealing with various customer service problems, including stressful and emotionally charged situations.
- Highly organized and attentive to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to read written communications and understand verbal instructions.
- Must be able to operate computer, calculator, and telephone keyboards for cash handling and paperwork processing.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Must be able to work in a climate-controlled environment with fluorescent lighting.
Qualifications
- Mathematical aptitude suitable for high school level calculations.
- Knowledge of standard cash handling procedures and computerized cash register systems.
- Fluency in English, both oral and written.
- Ability to handle stress and emotional situations professionally.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
