About the role

AvantStay delivers exceptional, unique stays for group travelers. The Front Desk Associate is the face of AvantStay and our boots on the ground at our market office location. This versatile role is perfect for anyone who loves being on the go and finds fulfillment in serving our guests. The primary responsibility is facilitating in-person guest check-ins, while also managing all aspects of the office, including deliveries, supplies, and support for local teams and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct live check-ins for arriving guests—often the first impression and face of the company.
  • Receive, organize, and stock deliveries of housekeeping and operational supplies.
  • Lift, move, unpack, and handle the organizational tasks for the office and storeroom.
  • Guide guests through the AvantStay experience, ensuring an amazing first impression.
  • Stay in constant communication with the field team regarding guest arrivals and requests.
  • Utilize technology to release check-in instructions and close out “Live Check-In” cases in Salesforce.
  • Assist with inventory duties, such as preparing items for the field team, receiving deliveries, and tracking linen/consumables use.
  • Maintain and organize gathering spaces, including the office and surrounding area.

Requirements

  • “Guest First” attitude toward hospitality, with an insatiable need to create great experiences.
  • Broad range of technology experience, including different property management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills—ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in a startup environment with empowerment to make decisions that enhance the guest experience.
  • Positive attitude, self-starter mentality, and ability to work effectively both in a team and independently.
  • Desire to become deeply knowledgeable about short-term rentals and housekeeping.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and collaborative skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perfectionist, attentive to all details.
  • Focused, hard-working, and willing to do what it takes to help the company reach the next stage.
  • Experience in real estate, hospitality, and/or tech is a plus.
  • Ability to understand and convey both business issues and technical concepts.
  • Capable of quickly learning new software systems.
  • Must be based in the Austin area and willing to work some weekends and evenings full-time.
