About the role
The Hilton Milwaukee is seeking a dedicated Front Desk Agent to join our dynamic team and contribute to the exceptional guest experience we're known for. The hotel is undergoing a $40 million renovation that has elevated guest rooms, event spaces, and the grand lobby to reflect a new era of modern elegance. Located in downtown Milwaukee, the Hilton Milwaukee is the city's largest hotel and a historic gem.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the hotel.
- Check guests in and out of rooms.
- Input and retrieve information routinely from computer system to communicate guest requests.
- Make appropriate selection of rooms based on guests' needs.
- Effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
- Respond to guest requests and questions regarding area or hotel, outlet information and services as well as handle guest issues and report complaints to management.
- Promptly answer the phone in a professional and clear manner.
- Maintain cash handling accuracy including responsibility for House Bank.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills and communication are required.
- Previous hotel, receptionist, customer service, front desk or administrative experience preferred.
- Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and the ability to work under pressure.
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergencies.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
