About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our Front Office Team at The Westin Great Southern Hotel in downtown Columbus, Ohio. This position offers competitive wages, an exceptional benefits package, and flexible scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Greet and register guests
- Complete the registration process including inputting and retrieving information from the computer, confirming guest information and room rate, selecting rooms, coding electronic keys
- Aid guests with check-out including ensuring rooms and services are correctly accounted for, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, accepting and recording various forms of payment, converting foreign currency, making change, and processing gift certificates and cards
- Show thorough knowledge of hotel information including room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, the local area, and other general product knowledge
- Answer guest questions and inquiries
- Promote hotel services and facilities through upselling techniques to maximize room occupancy
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
- Field guest complaints, conduct research, and resolve and negotiate solutions for guest satisfaction
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Front Desk Agent in a hotel or in a high volume industry dealing with customers
- A passion for providing excellent customer service and enhancing guest experience
- Able to work a variety of different shifts including days, evenings, and weekends
- Excellent computer skills
- Team spirit
- Marriott brand experience a plus
