Fright Fest Makeup Lead

About the role

Lead the makeup team for a seasonal Fright Fest event, producing and applying themed makeup designs that range from casual street makeup to full-body prosthetics.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Creative team to produce themed makeup designs aligned with haunt theming.
• Collaborate with the management team on the hiring of makeup artists.
• Lead a team to produce and apply makeup looks, including prosthetics, gore, masks, silicone, latex, and other special effects.
• Source, build, and maintain prosthetics for the duration of the Fright Fest season.
• Track makeup stock and submit restock requests to leadership in a timely manner.
• Oversee the makeup application of scare performers, maintaining the integrity of the original design.
• Assist with nightly set-up and take-down of makeup areas as needed.
• Maintain hygienic standards in all makeup areas, including products, stations, tools, and airbrush machines.
• Apply makeup to Fright Fest performers efficiently and in alignment with park and intellectual property standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be over the age of 21.
• Able to work with a variety of makeup and special effects, including airbrush, creme, latex, silicone, alcohol-based makeup, prosthetics, masks, and contacts.
• Ability to apply makeup for several hours at a time with reasonable accommodation.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with varying schedules and high guest interaction.
• Ability to work days, nights, and weekends throughout the Fright Fest season.
• Comfortable teaching the makeup artist team how to properly execute makeup looks.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures.
