About the role

You will operate a forklift and manage inventory in a Sam’s Club facility while providing excellent member service and maintaining a safe, clean, and well-merchandised sales floor.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift following company standards to safely pick up, move, place, and position merchandise pallets.
  • Receive, stock, and organize merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers, managing inventory flow, correcting shelf capacities, and completing required paperwork and logs.
  • Provide member service by acknowledging members, identifying needs, offering guidance, assisting with purchasing decisions, resolving issues, and promoting products and services.
  • Maintain facility safety by conducting safety sweeps, following forklift spotting procedures, handling hazardous materials, correcting unsafe situations, and reporting issues to management.
  • Maintain the sales floor and merchandising presentation by zoning the area, stocking and rotating merchandise, removing damaged goods, setting up displays, processing defective merchandise, and monitoring shrink and security risks.
  • Ensure club pick-up orders are filled by assisting with picking, staging, and auditing orders for accuracy.
  • Handle inventory by moving and displaying goods safely, tracking stock levels, controlling shrinkage, and reporting low stock or poor practices.
  • Use inventory tools and equipment safely and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
  • Proactively assist members with technology services and items, identify shrink opportunities, and maintain organized and stocked product areas.
  • Embrace and promote a culture of respect, integrity, and excellence by supporting teamwork, mentoring others, acting with humility and transparency, and driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 90 days of prior experience with Forklift Certification.
  • Ability to safely utilize pallet jacks.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Customer service experience.
  • Retail experience.
  • Experience supervising a team.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, such as based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
