Responsibilities
- Customer Acquisition & Problem Solving
- Contact new customers and drive customer acquisitions
- Develop and increase profitable volume with existing and new shippers
- Build relationships to understand customer needs and solve their problems
- Deliver exceptional customer service
- Carrier Management & Pricing
- Contact and build relationships with carriers to increase capacity
- Stay updated on market freight rates to determine fair pricing
- Negotiate rates based on market demands
- Recommend solutions to senior brokers and management
- Logistics & Compliance
- Perform daily "check calls" on loads in transit
- Originate necessary documentation for freight bills
- Handle freight brokerage and load booking
- Uphold company standards and principles
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in freight brokerage or customer service
- College degree highly desired or equivalent experience
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player
- Strong customer service orientation and work ethic
- Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time-management and multitasking abilities
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to process information quickly and work under pressure
- Excellent communication skills
Pay
Base salary: $45,000–$55,000
