About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, creative, and highly organized Editorial Assistant to join our fast-paced magazine team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about media, pop culture, and digital publishing and is eager to learn and grow in the industry. The Editorial Assistant will support the editorial team in all aspects of content creation, from research and writing to social media and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in researching, writing, and editing articles for print and digital platforms.
• Support the editorial team in brainstorming and developing story ideas.
• Monitor industry trends and news to identify potential content opportunities.
• Manage and update editorial calendars and deadlines.
• Coordinate with writers, photographers, and designers to ensure timely delivery of content.
• Assist in fact-checking and proofreading articles before publication.
• Help manage social media accounts, including drafting posts and engaging with followers.
• Provide administrative support, such as scheduling meetings, handling correspondence, and maintaining files.
• Attend and assist with events, photoshoots, and editorial meetings as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in editorial, journalism, or digital media (internships count!).
• Strong writing, editing, and research skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Familiarity with AP Style and basic SEO principles.
• Experience with content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Passion for pop culture, fashion, entertainment, and lifestyle topics.
• Proactive, creative, and eager to learn and contribute to a collaborative team.
