About the role

This role is dedicated to driving elite, international performance within our women’s freeski slopestyle and halfpipe programs. Responsibilities include monitoring load volume, designing skill development opportunities, improving landing mechanics and progressing fundamental ski and air technique. The goal is to augment performance while reducing injury rates.

Responsibilities

  • Establish technical, physical, and mental goals in collaboration with Freeski coaches with each female athlete for training and competition, creating an Athlete Development Plan, with tracking and updating throughout the season.
  • Plan and execute skill building camps outside of the regularly offered athletic programming to enhance and build injury prevention skills.
  • Maintain physical and mental loads throughout the season for female athletes, providing guidance on peak risk and peak opportunity situations.
  • Develop and test innovative ways to reduce injuries in female freeskiing.
  • Collect data and analyze effectively, identifying trends to create new learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with all aspects of high-performance team to enhance female performance and safety.
  • Track and monitor physiological patterns throughout the season in conjunction with sports science.
  • Manage travel expenses and develop project sheets that estimate costs per athlete and communicate, track, and balance the projects expenses with monthly reports with Team Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years coaching experience in a high-level domestic program or elite level international program.
  • Research, medical, or high-performance training that is relevant to this position.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in these areas.
  • Knowledge of technical aspects of coaching freeskiing athletes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage projects independently or in coordination with other coaches/programs.
  • Accounting and budget management skills.

Qualifications

  • Computer skills to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Video Review/Edit knowledge.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
