Freelancer MLB Writer

About the role

More Views Media is seeking MLB writers who can immediately contribute to the content creation for Fastball On SI, Sports Illustrated’s national MLB page within the On SI program.

Pay

$10 per article for MLB writers to come join our team in a freelance capacity.

Requirements

• VolumeWe need writers who are able to churn out multiple 400-word articles per day. The best in our company are in the 5-10 per day range.
• SEO KnowledgeOur management team is here to instill as much knowledge as possible regarding Search Engine Optimization but a foundation of information coming in certainly helps. Topic and title selection is the name of the game in the world of sports media right now.
• Sports KnowledgeThis goes without saying, we need writers who are experts in their specific field. If you have the ability to cover multiple sports at a high level, great. If not, we do not care -- just be really knowledgeable in your domain(s). We're not passing on the best MLB writer in the world because he/she can't write about college football.
• AP StyleThere's going to be different styles on each platform that you'll have to adjust to. With that said, knowing the general best practices, such as writing out full team and player names on first reference, will cut down on editing time substantially and benefit the company mightily.

Qualifications

Just prove you can be an asset for us. We don't care if you have been in the business for a year or a decade. The people who can create good content while getting the most page views will be hired, paid and promoted.
