Freelance Videographer/Video Editor
We are seeking a talented and versatile Videographer/Video Editor to support ongoing communications efforts for the NY Penn Station Transformation Project. This individual will serve as both the lead videographer and editor, creating compelling video content that documents project progress, highlights key milestones, and engages a variety of stakeholders.
This is an ongoing, project-based contract opportunity. Hours and workload will vary based on project needs, with periods of increased activity around major announcements, events, and milestones. The ideal candidate is based in the New York area and can quickly mobilize for on-site filming opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Serving as the lead videographer for "Man on the Street" style interviews and other project-related video content.
- Capturing high-quality footage at Penn Station and other project-related locations.
- Editing footage into polished, platform-ready video packages optimized for social, digital, and stakeholder communications channels.
- Supporting additional video storytelling opportunities as they arise throughout the project.
- Delivering content within tight timelines while maintaining high production standards.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in videography, video production, and editing.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating interview-based content, documentary-style storytelling, event coverage, and social media video production.
- Proficiency with professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with New York City, Penn Station, Amtrak, transportation, infrastructure, or large-scale public projects.
- Experience supporting public affairs, government, transportation, architecture, engineering, or construction-related organizations.
