ABC7 KGO-TV is the Bay Area's news leader, delivering breaking news, weather, and live video on-air and 24/7 wherever you stream. Producing more than 45 hours of live newscasts every week, ABC7 Eyewitness News is widely recognized for its solution-based journalism and advocacy with legacy franchises Seven on Your Side and I-Team.
About the role
ABC7/KGO-TV is seeking an experienced News Photographer for daily hire shifts. We are looking for self-starting, creative storytellers who are curious journalists and team players. Candidates must be comfortable working under deadline pressure, handling breaking news in the field with or without a reporter, and reliably delivering content in a timely manner for all platforms.
Responsibilities
- Daily newsgathering and live microwave truck operation
- Operation of broadband streaming devices such as Dejero and LiveU
- Satellite operation, lighting, and field editing
- Proper care and use of all assigned equipment
- Collaborate with reporters, assignment desk editors, producers, writers, and managers
- Take stories from concept to completion independently
- Work a variety of shifts, including weekends, early mornings, late nights, and holidays
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a photographer in local news, medium or large market
- High school diploma or equivalent (four-year degree preferred)
- Proficient with a variety of professional-quality cameras and digital cameras
- Proficient with non-linear desktop editing, including Adobe Premiere
- Strong news judgment and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic
- Schedule flexibility to work weekends, early mornings, late nights, and holidays
- Background check clearance and clean driving record
- Knowledge of the San Francisco Bay Area is a plus

Pay
$58.6875 per hour
