Freelance Hair Stylist & Model - San Francisco, CA

Collective Press is a digital media startup producing online videos in lifestyle verticals: make-up, hair styling, nail painting, fashion, DIY, and more. We’re looking for a part-time creative hair stylist/model to join our San Francisco office and immerse yourself in digital and social media content creation.

About the role

This is a part-time, three-month position with the possibility of renewal if the role is a good fit. Shoots are available Monday–Thursday; we ask that you commit to at least two shoots per week, each lasting 3–4 hours.

Responsibilities

• Shoot and appear in hair-styling tutorial and tips videos (primary responsibility)
• Assist with the full production cycle of hair-styling videos: shopping and prepping materials, appearing on camera, and wrapping up the shoot
• Execute hair-styling techniques both on yourself and on others
• Collaborate with the team to produce videos to spec
• Generate content ideas for hair videos
• Manage and order all video supplies in an organized manner
• Handle other administrative tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Strong technical experience with hair styling (e.g., bridal hair, hair braiding, updo styling)
• Ability to style your own hair
• Solid knowledge of current and past hair-styling trends
• Comfortable appearing on camera
• Operate well in a deadline-driven environment
• Positive, can-do attitude
• Self-starter and team player
