FreeCAD Design Engineer

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior FreeCAD Engineer to contribute to an innovative engineering project. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in mechanical design and parametric CAD modeling to support the development of next-generation AI systems. Your high-quality engineering input will help improve AI models' ability to understand, reason, and solve real-world engineering problems. Prior AI experience is not required your technical expertise is what matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models using FreeCAD according to project requirements.
• Design, develop, and optimize mechanical assemblies while following industry best practices for component integration.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to ensure manufacturability and product quality.
• Produce accurate technical drawings, engineering documentation, and manufacturing-ready design outputs.
• Perform engineering quality assurance (QA) reviews of CAD models and technical drawings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with specifications.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, industrial engineering, or a related field with a strong focus on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or a comparable parametric CAD platform.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including GD&T and DFM.
• Experience creating detailed technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience conducting engineering QA and verifying CAD model integrity against design specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment.
