About the role
The Fraud Investigator develops and conducts fraud investigations, monitors and dispositions fraud alerts, and mitigates financial losses through asset recovery for EagleBank Corp. Monitors and reports on fraud trends and engages in strategy development to address these trends. Requires direct and productive interaction with the Fraud Investigations Manager, BSA/AML, clients, and other fraud personnel within financial services organizations, entities, and federal/local/state law enforcement agencies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and conduct fraud investigations

- Mitigate financial losses through asset recovery
- Monitor and report on fraud trends
- Engage in strategy development to address fraud trends
- Interact productively with Fraud Investigations Manager, BSA/AML, clients, and other fraud personnel within financial services organizations, entities, and law enforcement agencies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, three (3) years of directly related professional experience may be substituted
- 2 years of training and direct experience in fraud/financial crimes investigations, preferably within the Financial Services Sector
- Relevant financial services sector, military, and/or law enforcement experience which includes financial investigations may be substituted
- Ability to document case-work and prepare or create effective reports/forms
- Strong communication skills (orally and in writing) with customers and employees
- Demonstrated presentation skills to all levels within the enterprise
- Able to design, teach, and train individuals and groups on moderately complex materials relating to security and fraud
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to conduct interviews or interrogations when appropriate
- Ability to interact productively with clients and staff in data-gathering and support
- Working knowledge of banking products such as checking accounts, wire transfer, ACH, credit/debit cards
Preferences
- Direct experience interacting with law enforcement, AML/BSA, etc.
- Knowledge and experience with case-management systems and core banking systems
- Working knowledge of Verafin
- Specific knowledge of core banking systems, operation of common banking products, applicable laws and regulations, and how each may be impacted by fraudulent activities
- Willingness to join and participate in local security and fraud-management organizations

Pay
The minimum and maximum projected annualized salary for this position is $69,844.00 to $108,847.00. Additional compensation may be possible based on experience and skills.
Schedule
This position is eligible for our hybrid remote work and will work in the Bournefield office in Silver Spring, MD four days per week.
