Fragrance Development Manager, Fine Fragrance

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Make fragrance selections through an exchange and collaboration between perfumery and evaluation, which includes face-to-face smelling sessions, open dialogue, and shared team decision-making.
  • Manage assigned project portfolio by identifying the objectives of each project: 1) fragrance characteristics, 2) timetable, 3) priority, 4) cost, 5) competitive price, and 6) individual customer or broad market potential.
  • Responsible for final fragrance selection for all consumer insight sensory testing. May include global selection.
  • Select and develop commercially viable fragrances for assigned accounts.
  • Act in a supporting capacity to the evaluation department for floating accounts.
  • Maintain knowledge of assigned accounts including product lines, current fragrances, and submission requirements.
  • Continuously enhance market knowledge and consumer understanding in given area(s) of specialization, staying current with new market products, consumer tastes and olfactive trends.
  • May be responsible for managing and developing junior members of the team.
  • Responsible for supervision of department in absence of CFD.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and follow-up on stability.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. required, 5+ years of fragrance evaluation experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong project and system management skills.
  • Dynamic oral and written communication skills.
  • Expert Olfactive ability.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.

Pay

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, geographic location, and applicable legal considerations.
