Fractional Staff Accountant - Non-profit
About the role
The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of our client’s financial reporting. This role is responsible for various tasks including revenue and receivables management, cash forecasting, and assisting with audits.
Responsibilities
- Ensure integrity of Fund Accounting by tracking Restricted & Unrestricted donations
- Monitor release of restrictions through program allocations and other spending
- Post donated non-cash assets as revenue
- Respond to donor and staff communications regarding restrictions or grant proposals
- Avoidance of fraud and error in financial reporting
- Support audit activities
- Support monthly financial reporting
- Support annual operating budget process
- Support preparation of some schedules for IRS Form 990
- Document finance procedures in alignment with organizational policy
- Identify and implement improvements in financial reporting and processes
Requirements
- Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in a non-profit accounting or finance role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Solid understanding of GAAP accounting
- High level of personal organization with capacity for multiple work streams and ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy and ability to pivot when necessary
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Experience supporting budgeting and audit processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Slack and accounting systems (ERP experience preferred)
- Ability to learn new technology systems quickly and understand automations
- A heart for evangelism, particularly in the 10/40 window
- Agreement with our client’s Statement of Faith (Lausanne Covenant)

Schedule
Remote fractional Contract position in a virtual workforce. Must be able to provide support during normal business hours.
