Fractional HR Consultant

The Fractional HR Consultant will serve as the primary HR resource for a growing organization that is ready to formalize and strengthen its people practices. This role will assess current HR processes, identify priorities, and partner closely with leadership to develop scalable HR infrastructure, policies, and programs. The ideal consultant is comfortable wearing multiple hats, providing strategic guidance, and executing hands-on HR initiatives in a small business environment. Roles & Responsibilities Conduct an assessment of current HR practices, processes, and opportunities for improvementDevelop and implement foundational HR infrastructure, policies, and documentationPartner with leadership to prioritize and execute key HR initiativesCreate or enhance onboarding, employee handbook, offer letter, and employee experience processesProvide guidance on HR best practices, compliance, and workforce managementServe as a trusted HR advisor to business leadershipRecommend scalable solutions to support organizational growthAssist with employee relations, talent management, and people operations needs as they ariseBuild practical processes and frameworks that support a growing workforce Required Skills & Experience Proven experience as an HR Consultant, HR Business Partner, HR Generalist, or HR LeaderExperience building HR programs and infrastructure within small or growing organizationsStrong knowledge of HR operations, compliance, policies, and employee lifecycle managementAbility to assess business needs and recommend practical HR solutionsExperience working directly with business owners, founders, or executive leadersComfortable operating independently in a highly autonomous environmentStrong communication, relationship-building, and consulting skillsAbility to balance strategic planning with hands-on executionEntrepreneurial mindset and comfort navigating ambiguity About Versique Versique: /ver-seek/ adj. being both versatile and unique; n. a high-performance recruiting firm specializing in executive leadership search, direct hire, and interim hiring solutions.
