Fractional IT Strategy Consultant
About the Role
A growing multi-site manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced IT leader on a fractional consulting basis to assess its current technology environment and develop a strategic roadmap for future growth. This engagement will evaluate the organization's IT structure, systems, vendors, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business applications while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and governance.
Responsibilities
- Partner with executive leadership to assess current-state capabilities
- Identify organizational and technology gaps
- Deliver actionable recommendations, including a 1–3 year technology roadmap
- Provide operating model improvements
- Offer guidance on internal versus outsourced IT services
Required Experience
- Former Director of IT, VP of IT, CIO, or equivalent technology executive
- Experience leading IT assessments, organizational design, and technology strategy
- Strong background in manufacturing environments, ERP ecosystems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications
- Proven ability to balance strategic planning with practical execution
- Experience managing vendors, MSPs, and cross-functional technology initiatives
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills
Location & Compensation
Hybrid in Burnsville, MN • Hourly Rate: $125-150/hr DOE
