About the role

We are looking for an exceptional clinical leader with the credibility and sophistication to lead among their clinical peers, while bringing a forward-looking vision for the evolution and future of our clinical offerings. The Fractional Chief Medical Officer (CMO) serves as the senior clinical leader supporting commercial growth and strategic partnerships along with clinical product strategy. This role partners closely with Sales, Product, Clinical Operations, and Executive Leadership to articulate the clinical value of our platform to payors, health systems, and strategic partners, while collaborating with Product leadership to drive clinical innovation and establish a robust framework for measuring and demonstrating clinical outcomes.

Unlike a traditional CMO role, this position is primarily externally facing, helping prospective customers understand the evidence, clinical workflows, quality outcomes, and regulatory considerations behind our chronic conditions management programs. This person also has a strong vision for how the product could evolve to continually drive improvements in clinical outcomes. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable discussing clinical evidence with physician leaders, presenting ROI models to payor executives, and advising product teams on future clinical capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the clinical executive during enterprise sales discussions with health plans and risk-bearing organizations.
  • Present the clinical strategy, care model, evidence base, and expected outcomes of our hypertension, diabetes, and CHF programs.
  • Build credibility with Chief Medical Officers, Medical Directors, Population Health, Quality and Stars leaders, and Quality executives.
  • Support RFP responses, finalist presentations, and executive briefings.
  • Partner with Sales to address clinical objections and differentiate our platform from competitors.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, payer forums, and customer events.
  • Drive the publication of research that demonstrably proves the outsized savings we are driving for our payor partners.

Requirements

  • MD with unrestricted U.S. medical license.
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology, or a related specialty.
  • 10+ years of clinical leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of CMS Stars, HEDIS, NCQA, and quality improvement programs.
  • Experience working with Medicare Advantage populations.
  • Deep understanding of hypertension, diabetes, and congestive heart failure management.
  • Experience presenting to executive healthcare audiences.
  • Strong understanding of value-based care, quality programs, and population health.
