Via Logic is a growing technology company supporting federal and commercial clients across DevSecOps, cloud engineering, cybersecurity, data science, and national security analytics. As the company continues to scale, it is seeking a seasoned Fractional Chief Operating Officer to provide executive-level strategic guidance on organizational growth, operational maturity, mergers and acquisitions, and long-term business planning.

About the Role

The Fractional COO will serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the founders and executive leadership team, providing guidance across operations, finance, people, contracts, compliance, partnerships, and business growth initiatives. This is primarily an executive advisory engagement with limited hands-on involvement based on mutually agreed priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Executive Strategy & Operations
    • Advise founders on organizational growth and operational maturity.
    • Help prioritize and sequence strategic initiatives.
    • Recommend operating rhythms, accountability structures, and cross-functional workflows.
    • Identify operational risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • People & Organizational Development
    • Advise on organizational structure and workforce planning.
    • Support leadership development, succession planning, and hiring strategies.
    • Recommend performance management and compensation frameworks.
  • Finance & Business Planning
    • Provide executive guidance on financial operations and reporting.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and financial planning.
    • Assess readiness for acquisitions, investment, or business expansion.
    • Coordinate with finance, accounting, tax, and legal advisors when appropriate.
  • Contracts & Compliance
    • Advise on government contracting operations and compliance.
    • Improve tracking of contracts, NDAs, GSA schedules, and regulatory requirements.
    • Support transaction readiness and due diligence planning.
    • Identify contractual, operational, and regulatory risks.
  • Partnerships & Growth
    • Evaluate strategic partnerships, vendors, and consultants.
    • Advise leadership on mergers, acquisitions, expansion opportunities, and organizational structure.
    • Support long-term strategic positioning and enterprise growth.

Requirements

  • Required
    • 15+ years of executive leadership, corporate strategy, mergers & acquisitions, transaction advisory, or equivalent experience.
    • Experience advising founders, boards, or executive leadership through growth, acquisitions, restructurings, or business transformations.
    • Strong executive communication and strategic planning skills.
    • Experience advising across:

    • Ability to operate independently in a fractional executive advisory capacity.
  • Preferred
    • Previous experience as a Fractional COO or Executive Advisor.
    • Background in corporate development, investment banking, private equity operations, or M&A consulting.
    • Experience supporting founder-led or privately held businesses.
    • Experience with:
      • Transaction readiness
      • Due diligence
      • Valuation support
      • Post-merger integration
      • Exit planning
    • Familiarity with government contracting environments, including:
      • GSA MAS
      • SAM.gov
      • Federal contract compliance
      • DCSA facility clearances
      • GovCon finance operations

Pay

$150–$200 per hour.

Schedule

  • Part-Time / Fractional (1099 Contractor).
  • Initial engagement capped at 10 hours per month, with the possibility of additional approved hours as business needs evolve.
  • Fully remote (United States).
  • Must be available for meetings during Eastern Time business hours (9:00 AM–5:00 PM ET).
