About the role
The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager of Safety & Industrial (SIBG) role involves collaborating with the SIBG Global Industrial Channel and central functional leaders to lead the operational and strategic planning cadence. This includes driving financial operational rhythms, improving business results, and supporting budgeting and spending analysis processes.
Responsibilities
- Drive robust processes in financial planning & analysis to improve business results, target attainment & accountability.
- Collaborate with SIBG R&D Leadership on New Product Introduction Analysis.
- Lead financial analytics in support of quarterly estimates, financial, and business reviews.
- Connect operational actions to financial planning to drive accountability & execution.
- Leverage analytical tools, risk analysis approaches, data analytics and statistical assessment to enhance understanding of financial performance and outlook.
- Support budgeting and spending analysis processes for R&D, Marketing, Commercial Center, and Admin functions within the business group.
- Willingness to join cross functional projects.
- Collaborate with other division FP&A leaders, SIBG FP&A, and Corporate FP&A to improve processes and analytical approaches.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance or Accounting (completed and verified prior to start).
- Seven (7) years of finance experience working in private, public, government or military environment.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and conflicting deadlines.
- Solid business knowledge and acumen as well as strategic thinking mindset.
- Prior experience in Division Portfolio or Area Business Finance.
- Creative problem solving - ability to work with a wide variety of functional teams to address key issues.
- Ability to translate data into meaningful financial insights and analysis.
- Previous experience in a Business Finance role.
- Self-starter with ability to drive change.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and across multiple geographic teams.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Experience leading others and contributing to cross-functional teams.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Risk management analysis skills.
- Experience with Longview.
- Experience with developing Power BI tools.

Schedule
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week out of a 3M Office Location.
Travel
