About the role
The FP&A Analyst, Program Operations will serve as a key finance partner to our leadership and the operational programs team. This person will work closely with Program Managers across the portfolio to support budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, revenue planning, financial reporting, and program performance analysis.
Responsibilities
- Partner with operational leadership and Program Managers to manage financial performance across Veilant’s operational program portfolio.
- Support program budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts across active contracts and customer programs.
- Track program revenue, costs, margins, burn rates, labor utilization, subcontractor spend, travel, materials, and other direct costs.
- Develop and maintain program financial dashboards, reports, and analysis to support leadership decision making.
- Provide forward looking insight into program execution, including risks, opportunities, funding concerns, margin pressure, and forecast changes.
- Help Program Managers understand the financial impact of operational decisions and customer driven changes.
- Support monthly financial reviews, program reviews, and internal reporting cycles.
- Monitor actuals against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and helping explain the why behind the numbers.
- Work closely with Finance, Accounting, Contracts, and Program Operations to ensure alignment on financial data, contract structure, billing, funding, and reporting.
- Aid in Estimate at Completion updates, revenue forecasting, workforce planning inputs, and program profitability analysis.
- Improve processes, tools, and reporting methods that create better visibility across the operational portfolio.
- Help ensure Veilant maintains strong financial discipline as the company scales.
Qualifications
- Active Top-Secret Clearance is preferred
- Experience in FP&A, program finance, project controls, financial analysis, or a similar finance focused role.
- Experience supporting government contracts, defense programs, technology programs, or professional services environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, revenue tracking, cost management, and margin analysis.
- Ability to work closely with Program Managers and operational leaders in a fast moving environment.
- Comfortable translating financial data into clear business insights and recommendations.
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial systems, reporting tools, or dashboards.
- Ability to identify financial risks early and communicate them clearly.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture.
- Comfortable working across Finance, Contracts, Accounting, and Operations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs, ask good questions, and drive clarity.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office. Constantly work with computers and other information technology equipment. The ability to communicate information and ideas in a classroom style format, may stand at a podium for long periods of time.
