Fountain Worker - Food Hall

About the Role

The Fountain Worker - Food Hall creates an extraordinary guest experience by providing prompt service, quality food and beverages, and maintaining a clean, comfortable environment in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor, providing prompt and memorable service.
• Take food and beverage orders, answer questions, give recommendations, and serve orders to guests while ensuring all guest needs are met.
• Skillfully prepare and serve a variety of espresso, coffee, non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages, and food items.
• Ensure consistent quality in drink and food preparation, following established recipes, procedures, and presentation standards.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Accurately process and fulfill guest orders, acknowledging special requests and dietary restrictions, and communicate proactively with fellow team members.
• Handle cash transactions, process payments, organize orders, and use the Point-of-Sale (POS) system effectively.
• Maintain excellent cash handling skills, provide accurate change, and balance the cash drawer according to Venetian cash handling policies.
• Maintain a calm demeanor during high-volume periods or special events to uphold operational standards.
• Demonstrate effective and elevated communication skills with guests, team members, business partners, and leadership.
• Keep all areas clean and maintain an organized workspace.
• Possess detailed food, menu, cocktail, liquor, beer, and wine knowledge.
• Maintain proper hygiene and a presentable uniform and appearance in accordance with Venetian appearance policies.
• Comply with all departmental policies and procedures to complete service satisfactorily.
• Assist with training new team members by demonstrating values, policies, and procedures.
• Follow all cash handling, safety, and security policies to ensure team member safety during each shift.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 21 years of age or older.
• Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both spoken and written.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Alcohol Awareness Card, Health Card, or any other certification or license required by law or policy.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent cash handling experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent food server, cashier, fountain worker, or barista experience in a luxury environment or similar setting.
• Working knowledge of equipment such as beer drafts, coffee/espresso makers, and various kitchen equipment.
• Perform basic math skills: addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Excellent guest service and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members of different backgrounds.
• Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Lift or carry 50 pounds unassisted.
• Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
• Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts.
• Ability to walk, stand, push, stretch, bend, reach, and kneel for prolonged periods.
• Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• Work indoors and be exposed to environmental factors such as noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
