Founding Growth & Ops Lead

About the role

Fernstone is building a new kind of insurance company that combines AI with expert advisors to place insurance faster and at better terms. The company has raised $3M from YCombinator and other notable investors. It was founded by James (BCG, Traba, UChicago) and Bryant (Google, SentiLink, Vanderbilt). The team works in-person in the NYC office. Since the start of the year Fernstone has grown from 0 to 500+ customers, built a compelling product, and is now scaling to reach thousands more.

Responsibilities

• Growth: own, launch, and grow an industry vertical core to the business
• Operations: partner with insurance carriers to place coverage and transact on policies
• Product: transmit operations work into scalable, agent-led workflows

Requirements

• 2‑4+ years of experience on a team that demands operational rigor and analytical excellence (high‑growth startup, consulting, banking/PE, or similar)
• Experience building something from scratch and excitement for ownership, ambiguity, and fast execution
• Track record of impressive accomplishments, whether professional, academic, competitive, or otherwise
