Founding Full-Stack Engineer (up to $220k)

About the role

This company builds AI agents that automate strategic decisions in manufacturing operations. They sit on top of existing ERPs, handling procurement, inventory, and daily operational calls that dispatchers currently make by hand. It's a deep technical challenge, blending mathematical optimization, agent-based reasoning, and novel interfaces to deliver millions in savings for $1B+ revenue manufacturers. Backed by leading VCs and prominent founders, they're growing rapidly.

As a Founding Full-Stack Engineer, you'll be the architect of this decision intelligence, owning the algorithms, architecture, and underlying infrastructure. You'll work directly with customers, not through a product manager, shipping entire features end-to-end. This is a backend and infrastructure-heavy role with enough frontend to deliver complete solutions. You're building the foundational systems for a rapidly scaling team, not just iterating on an established product.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the core algorithms and architecture for AI agents making strategic operational decisions.
  • Build and own end-to-end features, from backend infrastructure to customer-facing interfaces, without product manager abstraction.
  • Develop scalable, interpretable, data-driven agents across the full stack: algorithms, architecture, and infrastructure.
  • Work directly with manufacturing customers to understand their needs and deploy solutions that save them millions.
  • Lay the foundational systems and infrastructure that will support a rapidly growing engineering team.

Requirements

  • You have shipped production code end-to-end, with a strong background in backend and infrastructure, and are comfortable building frontend features.
  • Experience building data-intensive, multi-tenant production systems using Postgres, Redis, and an orchestration framework.
  • You possess strong product sense and are eager to engage directly with customers daily.
  • You are within roughly five years of graduating university, ready to take on foundational engineering challenges.
  • Willingness to work onsite in San Francisco on a demanding schedule; relocation and visa support are available.
