Founding Engineer (up to $220k)

About the role

This role is a Founding Engineer position within a company building AI automation for a critical, traditionally manual process: SOX audit testing. The company is backed by leading investors at pre-seed stage, with a founding team bringing deep engineering leadership from successful AI and venture-backed startups.

Responsibilities

• Own the backbone of the product end-to-end: from data processing and UI to the agent harness, evaluation, and deployment.
• Drive product direction and roadmap decisions, balancing customer needs with long-term system health.
• Apply cutting-edge AI models to complex, real-world audit problems, prioritizing pragmatic, scalable solutions.
• Engage directly with customers to understand pain points and validate solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience building, launching, and scaling production systems as a software engineer.
• Hands-on experience with AI-driven solutions, pushing the capabilities of modern models while maintaining engineering pragmatism.
• Thriving in ambiguity, owning problems end-to-end with minimal guidance, and iterating quickly.
• Comfortable engaging directly with customers to gather feedback and validate solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with machine learning and AI technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar programming languages.
• Experience with data processing and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
• Understanding of database design and SQL.
• Experience with web development technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git).
