About the role
The Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering at IUPUI seeks an exceptional scholar, educator, visionary, and dynamic leader to serve as Professor and Founding Chair of a new Department of Computer Science. This position is part of a broader initiative to transform Indiana University Indianapolis into a next-generation urban research university.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a new Department of Computer Science at IUPUI
- Build a world-class and accessible computer science program
- Foster innovation and drive research excellence
- Engage in economic development through computer science initiatives
- Train future leaders in computer science for Indiana and beyond
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science or a related field
- Proven record of academic leadership and success
- Experience in building and leading interdisciplinary teams
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Ability to engage with industry partners and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Exceptional teaching skills and ability to mentor students
- Research expertise in areas relevant to computer science
- Experience in grant writing and securing external funding
